A patent is a monopoly right which protects inventions. The key point about a monopoly right is that it protects the invention not merely against people who copy it, but those who independently devise or develop something falling within the scope of the patent’s claims. Patents can cover either processes or products.
Under the legislation which regulates public procurement processes, contract award challenges are subject to very short limitation periods. When a contract challenge arises, responding quickly is paramount for both sides.

UK-wide consultation launched to tackle dairy sector supply chain issues

On 24 June 2020, the UK Government launched a consultation seeking to end any unfair practices across the UK’s dairy sector. This consultation is seeking views from dairy farmers and processors on whether future regulation could be used to strengthen fairness and transparency.
