Clarke Willmott hosts transition event for Bristol Bears players
Clarke Willmott has hosted an event at its Bristol offices, in partnership with the Rugby Players Association (RPA), to provide Bristol Bears players with an insight into the value of mentorship.
The transition event for players was led by the RPA’s James Bailey and focussed on the importance of mentorship in sport and business. It was attended by players from the Bristol Bears squad, RPA partners and other senior executives from the sports industry.
Speakers included Peter Swinburn, CEO of Clarke Willmott; Olly Kohn from the Jolly Hog, Mark Pearson COO of Advanta Wealth and Peter Harvey, former CEO of corporate and commercial banking at Barclays.
Tim Copplestone, partner and head of the sport sector at Clarke Willmott said: “We’re delighted to have assisted the RPA with this insightful event for its members. The RPA Gain Line events, alongside the close support the players receive from their Player Development Managers, help the players prepare for when the time comes to transition out of the professional game.
“The RPA regularly organises events like this which are invaluable for players, both during and after their careers.
“We have worked with the team and their members for over a decade now and we are proud to continue supporting them.”
Emily Lord, player development manager for Bristol Bears & Exeter Chiefs, said: “I was thrilled to welcome players to the excellent facilities at Clarke Willmott. The support for organising transition events is crucial for player development. It provided players with the chance to hear from an experienced panel and connect with highly skilled professionals.”
