Cardiff office insights

Office culture

Located in the heart of the city centre’s main business district, our Cardiff office is a short walk from the Cardiff Central and Queen Street train stations. In June 2024, the office relocated to 2 Callaghan Square, occupying 3,172 sq ft of space on the second floor of this prime location.

For the past decade, our Cardiff office has been a key presence in the city, housing x staff members, including 6 partners. While the office covers various areas of law, the largest teams specialise in social housing, banking and financial services, commercial property, corporate law and construction.

The state-of-the-art office covers 3,172 sq. ft of space and has an impressive business lounge, making it perfect for collaborative, more relaxed meetings or for catching up with colleagues over coffee. With adjustable standing desks, privacy booths and a range of meetings and conference rooms there is also plenty of space for quiet, more focussed work.

Located near the vibrant city centre, our office is ideally situated amidst some of Cardiff’s finest cafes, restaurants, and bars. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite, a place for after-work drinks, or a venue for client events, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from.

With a warm and welcoming culture, our friendly Cardiff office host regular social events so colleagues across all sectors and teams can get to know each other better. You can look forward to team breakfasts at some of Cardiff’s best brunch spots, and regular evening socials.

In March 2025, members of our Cardiff office took part in a world record attempt to clean up the city’s riverside. The ‘Taff Tidy’ took place in various locations along the River Taff, including Merthyr Vale, Pontypridd and Cardiff.

Our people

People are our most important asset and an integral part of everything we do. We’re committed to making everyone feel welcome and supported so you can enjoy and excel at what you do.

With a fantastic reputation across Wales and England, our Cardiff team brings specialist knowledge, local expertise and a client focussed attitude. The team are also frequently ranked highly in the legal directories including the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. In 2025, partner Fraser MacRae was, once again, named in the prestigious Legal 500 ‘Hall of Fame’ and many of the team were individually named in the guide as leading individuals and next generation partners.

The office continues to go from strength to strength, welcoming new talent. In 2023, the team welcomed senior associate Scott Keddle, associate Harvinder Kandola, solicitor Abigail Toms, trainee solicitor Beckie Herbert and paralegals Ayesha Davies and Millie Singleton. Later, in November 2024, partner James Williams joined and established a construction team, further bolstering the office’s service offering.

Cardiff-based partners include newly-appointed head Clare Gregory (taking over from fellow-partner Vicky Kells), Fraser MacRae, Bethan Evans, James Williams and Julia Morris.

Recently, the team also acted on the sale of almost 400 shared ownership homes in a deal worth nearly £35m.
  • Julia Morris, commercial property partner, acted on the redevelopment of a hidden courtyard behind two of the city’s historic arcades, to create a new and exciting food hall, the first of its kind in Cardiff.
