Who we are
You’ll be joining a national law firm that enjoys a strong reputation, made possible by our exceptional people – each chosen for their industry knowledge and passion for their field. We want to help you to reach your full potential, enjoy working with us and the work you do, deliver the best results for your stakeholders and stay with us for many years.
Clarke Willmott is a law firm that takes pride in being different. We strive to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients, the best possible career experiences for our people and to positively impact our communities and the environment around us. Our hybrid approach helps us do this.
We believe in the power of good quality in-person time for building better relationships, learning, supervision, creative collaboration and culture. We equally value the focus and flexibility offered by remote working. We want everyone to successfully blend both. But it’s not one-size-fits-all. Instead, we empower teams to tailor the way they balance in-person and remote working to best support our clients while responding to colleague needs.
Ideally, we are looking for someone keen to feel part of our colleague community in Bristol or Birmingham/Manchester, although for the right candidate we will consider our other locations in Cardiff, London, Southampton, and Taunton. Our hybrid approach to working involves a blend of remote working and being onsite at your home office, and occasionally others, as agreed with your line manager.
Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
- Proactively managing the flow of BAU and selected change communications content shared via our core channels, working within our existing processes, protocols and style while being open to developing new and effective ways of working as needs and opportunities arise.
- Thoughtfully promoting and supporting self-serve pathways where available and/or commissioning/editing high-quality content for our core channels that is on-brief, accurate, timely, creative and engaging.
- Demonstrating and maintaining strong technical skills and subject matter expertise in all our communications pathways, channels and tools (especially Microsoft 365 apps), both virtual and in-person.
- Proactively supporting the beneficial expansion of new communications pathways, channels and tools as we work to transform the way we connect with each other.
- Developing and delivering impactful measurement and reporting on the effectiveness of our activities.
- Flexibly supporting the Head of Internal Communications in delivering other strategic and change communications.
- Building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with team members, subject matter experts and stakeholders as a trusted advisor. Collaborating with others to achieve the best outcomes, while adhering to our regulatory standards and aligning with the firm’s strategy, culture and values.
- Maintaining high standards of everyday organisation, attention to detail and focus on seeing tasks through to completion. Working flexibly and managing yourself and your tasks under occasional time pressure in a constructive and collaborative way, proactively seeking support and help with prioritisation as needed.
- Continuously learning about our firm – including its challenges, opportunities, and communities – and positively engaging with our people and initiatives.
- Proactively developing your professional competencies and knowledge through formal and informal learning, in support of our team’s contribution and your own career development.
This role will report into the Head of Internal Communications, and you will also work closely with the wider Business Development and Marketing team, as well as operational and fee-earning team members and leaders.
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with data security and all firm policies and procedures.
This role is right for you if:
You have relevant experience (at least two years in Internal Communications and proficient in using M365 platforms) and can demonstrate how this has prepared you to take on this role.
You are comfortable working independently while being part of a small specialist team, contributing as the role and tasks require, and combining remote and in-person working where most effective.
What we can offer you:
A career at Clarke Willmott will feel different to other law firms. We thrive on our individual differences and diversity because as a team, we are united by our shared values and mutual respect. Working with us you will feel empowered, valued and free to be yourself in a safe and supportive environment.
Our mission is to help you realise your full potential whilst maintaining a positive work-life balance. We provide a comprehensive learning and development programme and a range of wellbeing initiatives to support your career journey.
There’s no doubt we expect the best from our people and even the occasional extra mile. In return, your dedication and commitment to the continued success of the firm will be rewarded with a comprehensive range of flexible benefits.
