New forum to protect local environment launches at Taunton business park

Clarke Willmott’s Taunton office has joined forces with other local businesses to launch a new initiative aimed at improving and protecting the environment in and around the Taunton area.

The Blackbrook Green Forum was launched by the firm and chartered accountants Albert Goodman with other businesses on the Blackbrook Business Park in Taunton pledging to get involved.

The aim of the forum, which is expected to meet quarterly, is to bring together businesses that are passionate about sharing ideas and taking proactive steps towards improving the environment for local people, local businesses and the planet.

The first activity to be arranged by the forum has taken place with a team of employees from across the business park conducting a litter picking morning.

Other initial ideas include inter-company car sharing, more electric points provided and an increased drive on recycling.

Dale Edwards, strategy consultant for green energy at Clarke Willmott, said: “Partnering with Albert Goodman on such a worthy cause is fantastic as we always enjoy working with the team.

“We hope that through the forum we can preserve and enhance our surroundings with like-minded people who are all keen to take responsibility.”

Sophie Parkhouse, partner at Albert Goodman, said: “Blackbrook Business Park has a real collaborative feel about it and by joining forces with Clarke Willmott and other businesses right on our doorstep to make a positive impact feels like a step in the right direction.

“I lead all things net zero at Albert Goodman and plan how we are going to transition to our goals by 2030.

“To take this one step further and invite the local business community to share in our vision feels really exciting.”
