Clarke Willmott supports photography exhibition

Clarke Willmott is sponsoring Active Ageing Bristol’s NO LIMITS#2 event taking place on College Green from 28 April – 25 May.

Part of Bristol Walk Fest, the outdoor photographic exhibition features photographs showing that age is no barrier to active living, as part of a drive to persuade older people to make bolder keep fit choices.

Using giant weatherproof frames to showcase around 35 images by Bristol-based photographer Alex Rotas, the exhibition showcases international champion athletes aged from 55 to 100+ as well as local participants engaged in sports activities across Bristol.

Organised by Active Ageing Bristol – in partnership with Age UK Bristol, with sponsorship from Bristol BID, Bristol Health Partners, Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity and Clarke Willmott  the event challenges negative stereotypes around growing older presenting visual evidence of joyful and active alternatives.

Clarke Willmott, which has many specialist lawyers for the sports sector, offered support to the cause when it was first organised pre-pandemic.

Tim Copplestone, partner and sports law specialist at Clarke Willmott, said: “We were attracted to the inspirational people captured by Alex Rotas in the NO LIMITS exhibition. Given our high profile in sports law along with our commitment to driving inclusion and participation in all aspects of our business, we really wanted to show our support for this great initiative.”

Alex Rotas said: “My pictures of elite older athletes are proof that at 60, 70, 80, 90 and above the human body is capable of a lot more than most of us think. Of course we recognise we can’t all be record-beaters and medal winners. So, I wanted to show images of everyday Bristol seniors demonstrating the physical, mental and social benefits we gain from any level of physical activity right through the life space.”

The free, open access NO LIMITS exhibition opens on College Green on Thursday 28 April and will be on view 24/7 until Wednesday 25 May.

The impact of sport relocation in family law

The impact of a ‘professional sportsperson’ career on families is often overlooked. For instance, when a footballer transfers to a new club, they might need to relocate to another part of the country or even to a different country altogether.
